(Hamburg/Vienna) The Austrian amendment of the Ordinance on Waste Prevention, Collection and Treatment of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (Elektroaltgeräteverordnung/EAG-VO = Austrian WEEE ordinance) as national implementation of the WEEE 2 directive was published and came into force with retroactive effect on July 1st, 2014.
Now, also the sale by distance selling to the Austrian end user is regulated:
The exporter has to denominate an authorised representative located in Austria who is also responsible for the obligations resulting of the EAG-VO and who is liable for the compliance.
take-e-way offers complete solutions including collection and recycling systems for used electrical devices as well as options to take over the responsibilities as authorised representative to interested distance sellers and online retailers.
