EcoCrowd is the first sustainable crowdfunding platform, initiated in 2014 by the German Environmental Foundation. It presents sustainable projects and start-ups that need support. This is where the community ("crowd") comes into play. According to the motto "Achieving more together", everyone can contribute to financing, form networks and spread ideas.
#LithiumUnites is now an Ecocrowd project because the Association for the take-back and recycling of waste electrical and electronic equipment (VERE e.V. registered association) needs supporters for its aid package against fire risks from lithium batteries. As a result of the growing scarcity of raw materials and the negative environmental impact of extracting primary raw materials, the topic of urban mining is becoming increasingly important. This is countered by the fact that recycling structures are destroyed by incorrectly disposed lithium batteries.
VERE would be delighted to have you as a supporter so that together we can raise awareness of the correct handling of lithium batteries and produce the simple, innovative aid package that we send to producers, sellers and collection centres. The aim is to provide practical help for the proper and safe disposal of old electrical appliances with lithium batteries in order to solve the problem constructively, unbureaucratically and, above all, at short notice. VERE has already produced 250 aid packages from its own resources and can send them out directly within Germany. You can request the aid package from EcoCrowd for €12 or more or select the "free support" option if you do not wish to receive an aid package and specify the amount of your support. VERE is grateful for every contribution!
The package contains information texts and instructions, information inserts for product packaging, information stickers for the battery compartments of electrical appliances in German language as well as masking tape for the terminals of lithium batteries.
